I want to get a tattoo kind of like the one you posted of the outline of the continents, but I want it to be somewhere where it will look good forever. any suggestions?

The one thing that stops tattoos from looking good forever is tanning and stretching.

I don't think there is one place on the body that won't stretch with age.
But there are places that will stretch less, mainly your wrist and your lower back.
Remember, skin stretches due to weight loss/gain, working out, friction. etc.
So the place which will properly get stretched the most would be your stomach or the area around it.
Don't forget, if you work out and gain a lot of muscle over a short period of time, that would stretch your skin too!

And remember to put sunscreen onto your tattoo if you're going be under strong sunlight for a long period of time.

Hope that helped :)

P.S
This is one of the reasons why you shouldn't get a tattoo when you're too young and still have a lot of physical growing to do.

Just Wondering.

I would love to create a few 'Tattoologist' T-shirts. It's just a thought, and i was wondering if you would want one or not. It would be a set of simple style T-shirts.
What do you think? Would you purchase one?

it's my 18th birthday soon and i want to get my first tattoo, of the gps coordinates of my favourite place in the world, but i don't know where to get it on my body! where would you suggest?

Hi!

Happy 18th Birthday! sorry if i'm late.

gps co-ordinations tend to be quite long (assuming you'll have it done in one line)
so i would suggest tattooing it in a place which won't stretch as much, or change when you move.

An example of tattoos changing when you move is a long tattoo on your forearm running from your elbow down. When you turn your hand the tattoo tends to twist from being straight into being slanted.

I would suggest your foot, wrist, back or Angelina Jolie's placement of the shoulder.

Remember, these are only suggestions, it's down to what you like in the end ;)

would u say the wrist here alot?

I'm guessing you meant 'hurt' and not 'here'.
I can't tell you that much, since I've only had two tattoos, can't really compare.
But out of the two, the wrist one definitely hurt more. And from what I've heard, it does tend to hurt more because it's close to the bone and it's a more sensitive area from other parts of the body etc.

I think you're awesome :)

hahaha, not really, but thanks :)

is "ridyard" a family name? also, how's the white holding up? has it yellowed any or faded away?

Yup, Ridyard is a family name.
The ink has held very well, it's hard to take a picture of, but it is definitely white, and hasn't yellowed.
It's taken a very long time for the tattoo to heal and the ink to show though, but maybe that's just me.

could you show a picture of what your white ink tattoo looks like now?

I'll try to get a decent picture of it soon, but it is quite hard to take a photo of. I'll try!!

I love your blog :)

thank you :)

What tattoos are you currently wanting?

I'm currently craving a tattoo on the hip or ribcage. It is most likely going to be a word tattoo. Will hopefully get inked in the summer.

don't you think getting a tattoo is kind of a paradox? for example, if i get one that's blatant and visible, then it might make it harder to get a job, but if i get one that's hidden and discreet, what's the point if no one'll see it?

I love this question.

I understand completely what you're saying, and I face this question everyday.

But at the end of the day, getting a tattoo done is for you and it's about what makes you happy. Some people like discreet tattoos which are just for themselves. Whereas some people like big visible tattoos, and if that's what makes them happy, i think, go for it.

Thoughts.

okay guys,
I've been sent these two pictures by a reader hoping to get a tattoo. What they want to know is which position of the key do you prefer. Do you prefer the one on the left, or the one on the right?

Tuesday Randoms.

Hey guys, I know I'm a bit slow with getting my way through formspring.me. It does take research etc.

But no worries, I will get through it. And I'm hearing the demand for collar bone tattoos loud and clear ;)

Thank you!

Just wanted to thank all you guys for following my blog :)

It's amazing to think you guys like my blog enough to keep coming back.

I've been thinking for a while now about what I'm going to do next, and I've been thinking about giving the blog a face, so that you guys have more of an idea of who actually runs the blog ;)

If you have any suggestions, please comment. I'm looking forward to improving the blog as well as possibly expanding into other areas.

what i mean by 'expand' is to take the subject of tattoos into other areas, not just a blog, but possibly a book further on. etc.
